After graduation from the Glasgow School of Art with an honors BFA, in 2006, I spent a year

outside. Volunteering in a college, within England, which teaches disabled students practical skills

enabled me to learn an incredible amount along side them about the natural environment. This

experience and inspiration combined with my grounding in the permaculture design course

brought me to apply for a job at Evergreen. Seasonally since 2007, I worked for Evergreen, refining

skills to begin a career as a community artist and creative educator. These activities have been

supplemented by somewhat silly, but continuous, urban environmental activism, which continues to

be the impetus behind my work. From creative public protest, street theater, educating about

traditional technology, living woven willow sculptures and compost design and education, there is

never any lack of activity for me in Toronto. These actions are, to me, principled to

build community values and a renewed sensitivity to the natural world within the urban

environment.
