I started taking photography courses at The International Center of Photography in NYC in 2008 and never stopped until ten years later My identity as a Clinical Psychologist has faded away to be replaced by Photographer. I consider myself a candid street photographer. My website is www.paulkessel.com. I have self-published eighteen Blurb books and I have a book called "Look Look Look" published in Europe by Snap Collective. I have appeared in about 200 shows, including 5 solo exhibitions. I was featured in Popular Photography and PDN Magazine. I was a Finalist and 3rd place winner of Lens Culture Street Photography Awards (2020) and the Winner of Miami Street Photography Festival (2020) I have been a Finalist in the Miami Street Photography Festival (2017, 2018, 2020) , London Street Photography Festival (2019), and San Francisco Streetfoto Festival (2018) and several Street Photography Festivals in other parts of the world. Additionally, I have been First Place Winner of a few events. The quest for a good picture is ongoing.

In the time of the pandemic, I have stopped photographing on the street and while home, started a self-portrait project.
