I am a mixed media artist who loves to make art. I art journal frequently and have my own little corner of Etsy, called Haleighanna's Hands.

A little more about how I got here...I once had (and may have again) a nine to five, corporate America job. It was great--helped me raise my kids, take vacations with my husband, and bought us a house. But it did not feed me the way that mixed media art and craft does.

One day, sitting in the same meeting I'd sat in for the last several years, talking about "what are businesses doing and what should they be doing," I decided that I needed a change. So I started Haleighanna's Hands. Then, I changed my life.

My husband and I sold our house and moved to the PDX (that's Portland, Oregon). For some reason, Portlandiers like to refer to the city by the airport designation. My husband found a job and I found an apartment.

Fairy tale? Yes, if you mean by fairy tale scary stuff. It's a new place with new people and a brand new career. But being courageous doesn't mean that you can't be afraid. It's okay to be afraid, as long as you don't stop.

To keep up with my shenanigans, you can follow me at www.haleighannashands.com, on Facebook, on Pinterest (my handle is Haleighanna). And of course, I am on Flickr.
