Faces, faces of the old and young, of an ancient land and culture, wrinkled faces, hungry faces, faces of misery and extreme poverty and yet remarkable beauty. These are the extraordinary images of Sheikh Nadim, an extrremely talented photographer and artist. His images record in detail life in his country and surroundings, life unfiltered, as it is, as it is lived by millions moment by moment perhaps without much thought of a possible tomorrow. Sheik Nadim’s work simply deserves to be published not just for its aesthetic beauty and quality but also as a record of life, as a historical document, as a testament to his fellow country men and women whom he obviously, with incredible objectivity but compassion, brings to life through his eyes and his camera. His photography is extraordinary in quality doing great justice to his subjects. To visit his stream, to see a new posting, is always evocative, intense and moving. It is with the greatest of pleasures that I write this brief testimonial in praise of his work and his vision.
