I used to take lots of pictures with my 24x36 Minolta in my youth, but then I started working in humanitarian relief operations in the 80's, and it is not a good idea to mix those two, particularly in conflict zones. I returned to photography in 2010, first during some of my professional travels and then as a volunteer photographer for several organizations. I am a volunteer at the Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) in Talent, Oregon, where I take pictures of dogs coming into adoption for the organization's website. I am also a volunteer photographer at the Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF) every April and for the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy in the Spring. I take pictures for various fundraising events these organizations carried out during the year. But it is always for my own pleasure!
