As a young adult I became captivated with film photography and the artistic creative outlet it provided me. It became magical once I started developing in my own home darkroom and watched as my black and white photographs came to life out of nothing. The developing chemicals brought forth sometimes very pleasant and surprisingly expressive images.
At that young age I took art and photography classes to further develop my eye and technique. It was an exciting time for me because there was no one in my family who had anything to do with the arts and my exposure to creative oulets was nill. I found a very rewarding way I could express myself that was uniquely my own.
With time, career and family my photography was reduced to quick snapshots mainly documenting life events that so many of us put in scrapbooks to occasionally review with friends or family.
I returned to art photography again in 2014 when I purchased my first full frame camera in 40 years and began learning the ways of digital photography.
I love shooting all types of subjects but what I keep coming back to are landscapes. I love the feeling I get when I see a beautiful landscape. It brings me such a feeling of calm and serenity in a world the can be so chaotic and edgy. I also love black and white because it reminds me of my early days of photography and the great masters.
I also have fallen in love with infrared as it can give me so many unexpected surprises that make me smile.
I hope you enjoy what you see here. Please let me know.
Thank you
