I live on the east coast of Ireland, midway between Dublin and Belfast. I've always been interested in photography from when my mother allowed me to gaze down at the viewfinder of her Voigtlander camera. When I started working, I got an Olympus Trip and OM 10 and switched to digital in 2007. After using Nikon for a number of years, I went back to Olympus as I find the smaller mirrorless cameras suit me better.

Working as a journalist in a local paper has influenced my approach to photography. I mostly like to produce images that are pretty much straight out of the camera, with little processing or editing.

I also post on Pbase and came here for the more active 365 community - successfully completing my first photo a day project in 2022.
