Hi, I'm Ethan. Most of this isn't going to be anything very special. My hobby and main passion in life is film photography in all forms. I also really like found film!
I tend to find vintage film cameras and shoot with them, working with their flaws, or taking them apart to iron them out.
When I take my photos, I have noticed that I tend to approach it from two different styles- that of a lomography fanatic, desiring to make his photos evoke the vintage, shifted colors of old film, old cameras, and summer sun... Or that of a roving street photographer armed with a roll of black and white film.
I enjoy showing my creative process, so some pictures may not be finished, or may be trying a different look which I may not entirely like. I really like feedback.
For editing photos, I tend to use Photoshop, Perfect Effects 8, and the built-in photo editor on Flickr. I enjoy using apps that involve use of the touchscreen on tablet computers to edit photos- I like to manipulate photos with my hands, not with my keyboard and mouse.
I enjoy taking photos of my friends, nature (especially flowers), architecture, animals, insects, urban settings, and people. I love taking pictures of people. Seeing humans behind the lens fascinates me. I am fond of doing candid shots of people going about their daily lives.
Right now, I currently own:
-A Fujifilm X-Pro 1.
-A Canon EOS Elan II. Wonderful condition.
-A Canon AE-1, given to me in perpetuity by my History teacher. My other pride and joy.
-A Holga 35BC, in white.
-An Argus C3 Matchmatic. The light meter is not functional and the rangefinder is still dark and grimy after several attempts at cleaning it, so it's mostly display now... Interestingly enough, when I first popped it open at the vintage camera section of the local photo lab, it had a roll of Kodacolor II in it. I'm really hoping that the accidental exposure I created when opening the camera didn't ruin the film, because I'd love to see the negatives...
-An Agfa Sillette Pronto that I repaired successfully myself.
-An Argus A2B which is currently non-functional.
-A Kodak Brownie Twin 20 with a broken flash attachment. Haven't gotten around to using that one either, mostly because of the 620 film spool, but the mechanisms work fine.
-I have a Ricoh TF-500 floating around somewhere in my house...
