Hi, I'm Lachlan, or Aviator if you like.

Since I was about 16 I've had a keen interest in photography and taking photos. It mainly started when I first got my first camera phone, an iPhone 4S, but slowly I've been building a collection of cameras - a Nikon D3100 for Christmas 2012, a Nikon D7100 for Christmas 2014, and an expanding collection of film cameras.

It's hard to describe what kind of photos I like to take - I like to take photos which I like to take. Usually this means capturing 'moments' but I do like to take photos of interesting things, interesting places, and interesting people. I always try and see things differently, and like to try a different perspective. I don't like 'setting up' photos - that is to say, I don't like placing objects or moving things around. Probably because I'm lazy, but mainly because I don't like to interfere - I like to capture moments how they were.

In my photo stream I want to show you a variety of different styles, different subject matters, and different genres. When I look at the progression of my work, I like to feel as though I am moving forward as a photographer and improving my compositions.

I always say this is 'just a hobby' and so far: it is. I don't make money with my photos, but every so often I do get some exposure.
