Siobhan Davies Dance
Drag to set position!
Founded and led since 1988 by pioneering choreographer Siobhan Davies, Siobhan Davies Dance has evolved over the years from a touring dance company into an investigative contemporary arts organisation.
Exploring choreography and movement is very much at the heart of everything we do. So whilst we now apply choreography across a wide range of creative disciplines including visual arts, film and craft, we continue to hold our dance roots close.
Take part in the Siobhan Davies Dance photoblog Your Move 2013. The project is open to everyone for 40 days to celebrate the London screening of All This Can Happen, a film by Siobhan Davies and David Hinton, at the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
Through Your Move 2013, we invite you to create your own compelling photographs and collages that highlight everyday movement experimenting with some of the techniques used in All This Can Happen. All This Can Happen is made entirely of found footage from early films and photographs and looks back on early cinema’s fascination with capturing the detail of everyday movement. The film is composed using many different juxtapositions, densities of images, and split screen techniques; with several frames of action on screen at the same time.
Visit the Your Move 2013 site from the 1st October to hear Siobhan Davies talking about the film, and the photographic challenge. All of your pictures will build a growing gallery showcasing different ways to capture movement.
