I have been a photographer and a teacher for years. With Photoshop and Digital cameras I have a renewed interest in the photograph as art. I have traditional silver darkroom training. I am basically a journalist, and I write and attempt to create art. I am having a few issues with post-processing- it can be overdone. I think pictures and the journalist/artist must make a choice between the integrity of the image and creating art. Both convey meaning, but one is art and the other is journalism, occasionally they can be both- but only with limited post-processing. I think both art and journalism are important, but I also think they are not necessarily the same. Obviously, I am conflicted, but energized, too!
