I always loved photography and started at age 7 with my family's Kodak Brownie. I received a degree in Zoology from the University of Iowa and was lucky enough to be selected as a Research Assistant and sent to Guanacaste in Costa Rica on a National Science Foundation Grant for a year. The grant provided my film and developing along with living and vehicle expenses. Once I returned, I spent many years doing video, but once good digital DSLRs became available I was hooked.
