As part of the Swiss Contribution to the twelve states that have joined the European Union since May 2004, Switzerland has supported Poland with 489 million Swiss francs. The overall goal of the Programme is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union. Supported areas include Security, Regional Development, Basic Infrastructure, Biodiversity and Border Protection, Business Environment and SMEs, Private Sector Development and Export, Health, Research and Development and Block Grants. All application processes are now closed and projects are ongoing. They will be completed by 2017.
