Born in 1952 I was lucky enough to witness the demise of steam from our railway system, from train spotting as early as I can remember, to taking up photographing them as soon as I could afford a camera, my first, a Halina 3000 ( which I still have ) produced varying degrees of " half decent " images to progress to various Pentax MX/LX 35mm cameras alongside medium format , which included a Mamiya C330 a 645j and finally a 1000s . I have very little interest in the modern traction scene, but will record an image if the light or a one off event with heritage traction is about to take place. I will admit most of my pictures are of the traditional " chocolate box " style, but there are some that I will be very pleased with are the contre-jour, especially so in winter. I finally succumbed to the changeover to the digital age in August 2008, my choice of camera being the Canon range and currently a 5D MK4.

I my humble opinion I think flickr is a great canvas to share your images with - I hope you like what you see.
