I love taking pictures. I love looking at pictures. Back before Flickr, I had to buy photography books, but now, I can see some of the best photography in the world, right here on Flickr, taken by the best photographers in the world, even if nobody has ever heard of them.

Over the years I have photographed many subjects and many events, but have found that my favorite thing to capture is people. People are so interesting in their range of expression and emotion.

Of people photography, my favorite subject is youth; they are so honest in their expression, when they don't know they are being photographed, and the same goes for our elders; they are at the point they don't care to be anything but honest in their opinions and expressions. Both, to me, are a joy to photograph.

One of my favorite subjects to view (and sometimes photograph when I get a chance) are birds. They are so colorful, and unlike flowers, fast to leave you right when you are about to hit the shutter button.

I started my photography hobby back in my Army days. I took a Black & White photography class at the local college, and fell in love with it. I've had my own dark rooms, and have done my own developing. I will still shoot with film for the fun of it, but have mostly moved to a Digital workflow. I do portrait and wedding work mostly, but also do some commercial stuff including shooting book covers for a publisher, mostly of their Yellow Page directories.

I am currently working on my BFA in Photography. This is a little difficult, working full time, doing my church callings, running my photography business, and going to school, but it is really exciting at the same time.
