I take photographs.

That pretty much says it all.

But If you need more detail:

Mostly black and white. Contrasty.

35mm, 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x9, 4x5", APS-C, full-frame – whatever’s to hand. I’m not picky.

I prefer Kodak film: Tri-X, XX, 250D (in HC-110). I started late and have a lot of catching up to do, which is why I take photos every day.

Manual mode is my favourite mode on every camera. Maybe I´m a control freak.

And I photograph everything because it makes the learning curve steeper. OK… and because I like taking photos :)

I also restore old cameras and lenses (and test thm out), love being in the darkroom, experiment with chemicals, but I’m also in digital editing (you know... the learning curve). I spend a lot of time in nature, and to improve my knowledge of species, I take lots of photos there too (who’d have thought?) and then look up the species later.

I’ve got loads of gear that comes and goes, but a few pieces have stuck around and are in my rotation.

Lenses? OK… maybe I’m kind of addicted (and weird). I definitely like vintage lenses - anything with character. From Carl Zeiss Jena to Leitz, Schneider Kreuznach, KMZ Pentax M Series.. I´m kneedeep in to M42.

But modern lenses are OK sometimes too. The Nikkor 50mm 1.8S (a dream wide open), or the Fujifilm XF 35mm 1.4 R.

All-time favourite? If I had to name just one, it would be the Flektogon 35mm 2.8.
