On life's highway, we tend to get in the fast lane and keep the pedal to the floor. Sad, really. Those little by-ways we pass (human, animal, organic, inorganic) can mean the difference between a ho-hum traveler's view of life's journey, or the chance to stop and smell the new mown hay, to watch a baby bird being fed, to hear wind rustling leaves, to pet an animal, or to hold a dear one - child, friend or lover. The reason I write this is because Tricia strikes me as one who happily takes all the detours, drives down that rough little road, gets her feet wet, and enjoys the squish of mud between her toes. And there is no doubt when it comes to her children and her pets, she gives and receives much warmth and love. The witness to all this is, of course, Tricia's photography. It shows in her record of faces and places, of the mundane and the marvelous, the absurd and the serious. Her images of the small towns, the decaying houses, the empty main streets and the forlorn parking lots, are brilliant. One day, the book will be published, and you will see her name in rapturous art reviews. And that is not the end of it. Her images of the places she walks, the snow, the pastures, and the hints of farm and family, are always a pleasure to view. All of the above, Tricia presents for the most part in black and white imagery, using many formats of cameras, processing the films, and sharing her views with so many grateful followers. I am so happy that Tricia drives the by-ways of life. And I'm happy that I have the opportunity to see that wonderful journey through her eyes. Well done, Tricia. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy the journey.
