The lettering is not completely Art Deco, it is a little more fluid, but remembers that in proportions and geometry. There is something like fluency, maybe because the letters share some parts and they touch each other, or yet because of the S construction, or all of those things. Some of these choices are probably due to the whole structure stability, but the visual aspect is that of flowing.
It is also amazing the visual rhythms and weights formed by the curves and the straight lines, both of the letters and the “grid”, which change as you move (see also the first picture > serralves01).
