Peter Himmelman on Furious World
A wonderful singer-songwriter
and guitarist, Peter Himmelman
has a live music show on the
internet every Tuesday night at
7 PST called "Furious World." He
does it in his
Santa Monica home recording
studio, with several camera-men -
and excellent sound - much better
than most of these kind of
shows - since it goes through
a recording studio.
Invited to attend, I asked
if I could bring along my beamish
boy, and was given a Yes. I didn't
know there's only about four
people in the audience, and as
soon as we entered, Peter -
who is also a great
children's music artist -
started talking to him and
asking questions. Like walking into
the Tonight Show and having
Leno just start talking to you. Only
cooler.
Peter has usually one
musical guest on each show,
and on this was the great
Larry John McNally - who played
some beautiful songs and
played wonderful guitar.
On Peter's first song,
the beautiful
"Look Upon Me With Mercy,"
he invited my lad to
join him - first a little
smalltalk - and then on
shaker in the groove -
starting at about 11:20.
