Open House
Rent: Cheap!
I live in a neighborhood that was laid out about 100 years ago. Most of the houses were built in the 20's and 30's, and most of them are bungalos. The lots are small, and a grid of alleys run along the backs of most properties. Along those alleys, many secondary structures were built: Garages, sheds, workshops, Mother-in-Law apartments, etc.
This is a garage apartment facing the alley at the back of a property around the corner and across the street from my house. There are a total of three rental units on the property, this one plus the two in the main house. Only one of them is even remotely close to habitable, and it's rented. The roof has catastrophically failed to the point where it is mostly a distant memory. There is no door. This building must be torn down, and that is what I reported to code enforcement.
P.S. I hung out in this apartment circa 1993-1995, when one of my high school friends rented it. Trippy.
