Choco Banana Stall
Right after eating the ohikoshi soba, we ran out to the nearby shrine (Tsukinomiya Jinja) to watch them sound the gongs and partake of the festival. Many stalls selling similar food items such as roast corn, roast squid, teppanyaki steak, or kitschy items like maneki nekos and darumas were set up. My favourite? The choco-banana stalls. Bananas-on-a-stick dipped in different flavoured chocolate and covered in sprinkles!! The stalls remained for three days - on the last day, I ran out and bought three to stick in the fridge so I could continue eating them even after the New Year's holiday!!
