SR 99 northbound bridge - underground walls
The cutter head of a concrete deep soil mixing machine slowly moves into the ground, January 2012. It descends 100 feet below the surface, injecting cement as it goes down and comes back up. The result is underground walls to fortify the foundations of the new northbound State Route 99 bridge, just south of downtown Seattle.
