Installing the concrete pouring machine

A huge concrete-pouring machine called a "Bid-Well" is installed on a new bridge over 12th Street East in the Fife area.

It's a concrete finishing machine (Bid-well is actually a brand name) used to pour cement on bridges and ensure the deck is flat.

Our construction crews used a Bid-Well on many of the 20 bridges we're building for the SR 167 Completion Project in Pierce County, WA.

The bridge under construction here will help connect the future SR 167 expressway to SR 509 in Tacoma.

The SR 167 Completion Project is part of the Puget Sound Gateway Program. The program extends SR 167 from its current end point near Puyallup to SR 509 in Tacoma. The program also completes SR 509 in the SeaTac, WA area.
