Conrail SD45 6185, Sayre, PA rs
Rescan time takes us back to late July in 1978 as we visit Sayre, PA, once the home of the Lehigh Valley Railroad. The formation of Conrail in 1976 has brought the LV to its end, but vital parts of the railroad still remain. We see an ex PennCentral SD45 lead a freight into town. The crew has already visited the depot and now the train is pulling down to start setting out and picking up, a timeless scene. OK, the scene here has changed quite a bit since then, but the depot has been restored and has a solid future, being the home of the Sayre Historical Society. My slide's future is not so secure. I noticed some deterioration in the upper left corner, something that has happened to a couple of my older Ektachromes. My Kodachromes seem fine so far, and they're both stored the same way. I'm wondering if the E-6 processing is making the difference. Everything was Kodak processed, so that E-6 might be the culprit????
