Rod Shiers ( a local author) was promoting his book "Around Britain with Help From My Friends - All Aboard!" published in 2015 by Lodestar Books (ISBN 978-1-907206-34-4) in the garden of The Headlands, East Bank.
Rod told me that the book was about his adventure sailing a yacht around Great Britain and that a donation was being made to secret gardens for every copy sold.
The temptation to support a local author and secret gardens was too great so I bought a copy.
And athough I'm not a sailing fan, I'm glad I did, as it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
