i can't stand the spRAIN
There really aren't a lot things I can say I definitively know in life. One fact I do know is you can have a bad day or you can force the bad day can have you. (AKA turn it around!) Out of all the bad days in life I know that at least 99.5% of them are what you make them to be. It really is best to find the joke, the silver lining, or just have a good long cry. Do something about it though.
Personal motto: Laugh until you cry or cry until you can laugh.
So the saga of my sprained ankle continues. Sure it hurts. Sure I've been a crybaby about it. It happens. I try to tell the story so it's at least mildly entertaining. I'm a storyteller. I just love telling a good story and having people laugh. It so does not matter if it's at my expense.
I wore these boots to work yesterday for the ankle support. Right after lunch the sole started falling off of the right shoe. Yep same side as my hurt ankle. Someone asked if these were what I wore hiking. Nope. I wore hiking shoes... There were a lot of, "OMG I just lost my sole!!" jokes. The massive hole put the boot at a weird wonky angle that was creating a BAD kind of pressure on my foot. Not good. I could not help but laugh about it though.
I ended up telling Ryan I needed tape...packing tape! STAT!!! He gladly rounded some up and even helped me tape up my shoe.
So I was already being called gimpy. I was already walking with a limp. Now I was walking with a crinkle noise. It really does not get any funnier when talking about sprained ankles guys. Imagine walking around in a Dilbert style office with a limp while making a crinkle noise. It gets some attention.
Here's the in the moment camera phone pictures taken at work as we all had the giggles about my boots:
