Alexandria, Ont
This is a scan of a Post Card showing the main street of Alexandria, Ontario. The card was mailed from that community on Oct 10, 1941, addressed to my parents . However, it is apparent that the photo is much older than that as the newest car shown is from the 1920s. The inscription reads "Main street, Looking North, Alexandria, Ont., Canada"
On close examination, it appears that the man on the left foreground seems to be standing on pavement. They must have started paving the street from the east side. Interesting too, that the utility poles would appear to be in the street.
