Dreams Come True

48 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr gave his iconic "I have a dream" speech. He envisioned equality for all, and a color blind society. 48 years later, his dream has come true. To celebrate this anniversary, King will be the first non President to have a memorial in the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irene has postponed the official unveiling ceremony that was scheduled for today.

This is a statue dedicated to Dr. King in front of the Oregon Convention Center.
