Frozen Rose River Waterfall

When I drove in the park before sunrise that morning the temperature measurement showed around -4ºF(-20ºC) and I hesitated whether I can make a hike to this spot or not. I realized that getting there and back would not be a problem, but carrying all the gear and keeping my fingers warm enough to operate it once I'm there was the real question. Fortunately with the sunrise the temperature climbed up a bit, and chilling wind was only on the road and ridges of mountains, so the hike turned out to be quite awesome.

It is very interesting to see a usually loud waterfall in such a quite state. The ice was thick but a narrow opening inside that frozen wall still allowed warmer water to run down to the a tiny pool at the bottom. The flow of water was visible under the ice as through a matted glass, making it an absolutely mesmerizing scene.
