Last night, about half an hour before sunset, we decided to take a walk. Just as we stepped outside, we noticed the wind was blowing strong and clouds hung thick above us.
Thinking we might have a thunderstorm, my attention was up in the clouds, so I didn't notice that I was almost about to step on a snake! Until I looked down and saw this 4 foot long California Kingsnake less than 10 feet from where I was walking.
We both ran back to the house, my wife screaming the whole way, to, of course, get our cameras as fast as we could.
