Pathways Awards Diplomas to Bulgarian Students

On February 15, 2011 Ambassador James Warlick handed out achievement certificates to the first group of students who had successfully completed coursework at the Pathway educational facility in the town of Pazardzhik. Pathways grew from an idea conceived by Angel Kelchev, a native of Bulgaria, while a student at the Harvard Kennedy School, which was later fulfilled with the support of USAID. The educational facility features an innovative approach to delivering high quality education to Bulgarian students in a variety of areas including information technologies. In speaking directly to students and guests, the Ambassador said that they all should be very proud of themselves, and of their skills and knowledge in information technologies that would make them leaders in a new and interconnected world.
