June 24 2009 - On Steady Repeat
175/365
Since seeing "Next To Normal" in New York a couple of weeks ago, the cast recording has been on pretty steady repeat on my iPods, my computer at work (if I get a craving for the music, I go to the show's website where they have small snippets of songs available online - it's enough to tide me over until I can get to my iPod), and on my computer at home. While I loved the complete show of Billy Elliot (music, choreography, cast, set, everything), the music from Next To Normal has really made a place for itself in my playlist. So, if you see me listening to music, there's a very good chance that it's the cast recording of NtN. Specifically, "I Miss The Mountains", "You Don't Know", "I Am The One", "I've Been", "Seconds And Years", and "Light". I was rooting for Elton John to win the Tony Award for Best Music, but the creative team for NtN that won richly deserve the award - it's great music.
