Medical exchange culminates with U.S., Malaysian, Japanese, South Korean, and Australian troops working together

KUCHING, Malaysia (April 18, 2017) - Malaysian Civil Defense personnel cary a simulated casualty from shoreline to awaiting medical personnel while participating in a field training exercise (FTX) during Pacific Partnership 2017 Kuching, Malaysia. Personnel from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, Malaysian Armed Forces, Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, Republic of Korean Navy and Australian Navy participated in the FTX, the culmination of a week of medical exchanges and symposia during this annual military mission. Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific and aims to enhance regional coordination in areas such as medical readiness and preparedness for manmade and natural disasters.
