The Person Place is a unique house to Louisburg, North Carolina. It combines Georgian with Federal style architecture in an example of mixed architectural styles. The smaller section dates from circa 1789, and the larger Federal-style portion, dates from circa 1830. The one-story single gable Georgian portion has simple lines, a steep roof, molded window sills, a plain entrance and an unadorned façade. The Federal-style part has a pedimented front gable with a sun ray motif in the half-circular window. The entry porch is pedimented and supported by 4 columns with railings between and two half-columns flush against the façade. The double-leaf wooden doors are flanked by 4-sectioned window lights topped by a segmented 4-section transom. Louisburg College owns the property, but it is under lease to the Person Place Preservation Society. This property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places June 19, 1972, ID # 72000962
