This image of a paper tape measure was made after a visit to a popular Swedish modular furniture store. The strips of paper are available at the stores free of charge. The strip of paper looked interesting to me, in particular the point where the inch scale and the centimeter scale seemed to coincide. This point is visible through the paper at twenty-six inches and sixty-six centimeters. To find the expected conversion factor, note that 66/26 is about 2.54 cm per inch. On these scales, this happens at 33/13, 66/26, 132/52, etc.
My attempt with this image was to capture different light on the paper strip as I twisted the strip in front of a window. To me, the low f/stop makes this idea come forward. The image is corrected for contrast. I hope you like the result.
