Beautiful little Wasp (Hymenoptera) on a frond of Western Bracken Fern (Pteridium aquilinum var. pubescens, Polypodiaceae)
I found this beautiful little Wasp in the order Hymenoptera perched on a frond of Western Bracken Fern (Pteridium aquilinum var. pubescens) in the in the Polypodiaceae plant family. I have no idea what kind of wasp it is. It seems to have little yellow horns, and look at its brilliant green tibia, like a glow stick! (San Marcos Pass, 30 April 2013)
It was a crummy day for photos - gloomy and breezy, with a bit of drizzle. But I tried.
