Tiny spider on an oak leaf
I was getting a shot of the galls in my [Next] photo yesterday, when this tiny spider ballooned out of nowhere onto the oak leaf right in front of me. I did my best to get a few photos, but the spider really is tiny - about 330 pixels long in this 1:1 macro shot, which comes to 1.3 mm, only 1/2 of 1/10 inch. (See here for how I figured.) Sure, this is a very tight crop. I don't know what kind of spider it is, but I like its eyes. It also seems to have a pair of thorn-like appendages on the rear of its abdomen.
