Late-instar nymph of an Assassin Bug (Reduviidae) in the mint patch of the garden
This is looking straight-down on another late-instar nymph of an Assassin Bug in the Reduviidae family of the order Heteroptera, Hemiptera perched on a leaf in the mint patch of the garden this morning. I don't think I've ever seen one with such straight antennae. I've been finding a lot of these lately. It might well be a Leafhopper Assassin Bug (Zelus renardii). (San Marcos Pass, 7 September 2015)
