Different little Bee Fly (Bombyliidae, Diptera) on Spearmint (Menthe spicata, Lamiaceae)

This is a different little Bee Fly (family Bombyliidae) in the order Diptera from the usual flies in my [Next] photo. It has a narrow abdomen. It perched for a moment on a leaf of non-native Spearmint (Menthe spicata, Lamiaceae) in the garden this morning, and then took off to places unknown. Getting these photos is like casting a net into the sea and bringing in a fish. I know nothing about the creature except that it was here, today. The real challenge is to understand their lives!
