Hms Dasher
HMS Dasher, a WWII aircraft carrier sank off Arran in March 1943, due to an explosion caused probably by an aviation fuel leak. The disaster was covered up by the government of the day. A very good book on the subject has been written by local writer John Steele. This memorial is in the foyer of CalMac's Brodick ferry terminal.
