Springtime Teal

Yesterday's surprise from my blind at Brick Pond: Mating Blue-winged Teal. It was a surprise to see this because I didn't think birds mated until they'd established their nest. It's not out of the question for them to stick around and breed on this pond. But it would be unusual. I'll be watching to find out. April 14, 2016
