Juniper

The monthly Flea market in Portland was a new place to visit for me and I was not disappointed. I met many colourful and interesting people there. Besides, I was in the company of my two lovely granddaughters.

As soon as I saw her, she attracted my attention and I knew I wanted to make a portrait of her.

She was crocheting together beautiful pieces of wool into cosy cushions.

I introduced myself and asked her permission to photograph her. Juniper smiled agreeingly and thanked me for asking.

As her two sons were sitting in the shade next to her, I made sure she was OK with them being in one of the picture. She said it was alright.

I told Juniper briefly about my photo project while people dropped in and out to look at her beautiful work.

Not wanting to disturb her business, I asked if she could share a short message with my project.

"Slow down and breathe" she wrote down in my notebook under her email address, drawing a couple of hearts, too.

I thanked her kindly and she wished me a pleasant journey in Portland.

This is my 759th submission to The Human Family group.
