Chevrolet Corvette XP-87 Stingray Racer (S000666)

This 1959 Corvette racecar was designed to beat Europe´s competition. It was funded privately by Bill Mitchell as manufacturer-sponsored racing was banned. As its performance was great Mitchell was allowed to alter the design for road use which has finally resulted in the C2 Corvette that was built from 1963 to 1967.
