Old Clay County Jail
Upon being sent to Green Cove Springs on my job yesterday, I was able to get some good "used to be" shots along the way.
When I got to State Road 16, aka Ferris St., I would make a right turn to continue my way to State Road 21. About half a mile, just before the railroad tracks, stands this building which used to be the Clay County Jail. You can still see the bars on the side windows. Today it is the Clay County Archives & Historical Resource Center.
A new jail was built on US 17 next to the courthouse.
