Gothic Steam Engine

This engine, located today in the Henry Ford Museum, was created for the Tatham Brothers Lead Works in Philadelphia by Novel Works.

 

Ironically, while the engine is beautiful and one of the finest examples of ornamentation on an engine, it was never intended to be displayed in public view.
