Mission Accomplished
I drove 50+ miles this morning - partly due to the weather. Southampton & The New Forest was veiled in a murky cloud while Dorset promised sunshine. So off to Alner's Gorse for the Brown Hairstreak - just the one male, but at least he had the decency to open his wings for me.
I didn't get the hat trick though - no White Letters to be seen, but plenty of Purple Hairstreaks and a wealth of other butterflies to please the senses. And so far no sign of horsefly bites!
Edit; Nope - have one irritating bite!!!
