Patented NITRO® carrier tape is Tek Pak’s top line. It has precisely formed pockets that are exceptionally strong. The dimensional accuracy of the pockets is within 0.002 inches (0.05 mm), which permits exact presentation of components to automatic handling equipment. NITRO® carrier tape is the perfect choice for your difficult to place components. In many instances, components have been so exactingly located in NITRO® carrier tape pockets that no vision correction during placement has been required. Depending on the dimensional accuracy of your part, Tek Pak can design a NITRO® carrier tape with essentially zero lateral and rotational movement a slip fit. This capability extends to complex components including clips, pins, connectors, and metal shields. Tek Pak has created NITRO® carrier tape for many parts where packaging in carrier tape was previously thought to be impossible.
Supplies of carrier tape have become tenuous for many North American electronics companies because many suppliers have moved their manufacturing facilities to Asia. But Tek Pak still manufactures at our plant near Chicago. This means we can provide case quantities of open-tool and custom tapes in a matter of days, not weeks, and without exorbitant offshore shipping charges.
