Too much info to put in a description but:
Artists, no people, by nature are sensitive. Words hurt and no matter how many times you say that you are sorry, the damage is already created. I am reminded of the father who had his son drive a nail into their fence every time he was angry and wanted to say mean things to people. This continued until one day the son told his father that he’d learned to control his temper.
The father was quite proud of his son and helped him to remove the nails. Then he pointed out the damage and ugly holes left by the nails, some of them marred by rust for the years that the nails had remained there. “Hurtful words are like these nails.” He told his son, “You can remove the nails but the holes remain in the fence forever.”
I am deeply sorry if I ever left a hole in your fence.
