Le Carillon du Mont des Arts is a Jacquemart Carillion clock with 24 bells found on a arch of the Mont des Arts. You can notice 12 figurines that represent important historic and folkloric figures of Brussels through the ages. Jacquemart type clocks can be recognized by the character on top which marks every hour by striking the bell with a hammer. It was built on the occasion of the 1958 World Fair that took place in the city. www.smartraveller.it

Ashburton was an important centre for the tin trade during the middle ages and in 1305 became one of the four official stannary towns which had special powers to assay the tin produced from the Dartmoor mines. When the local tin, iron and woollen trades declined in the 17th Century, Ashburton made a living from passing trade on the main road from Exeter to Plymouth and many of the buildings you see today date from this period.
The Print Shop wall clock has finally failed to count the hours. Manufactured in July of 1972, she has hung on the wall of the Print Shop for over 42 years, running continuously, barring power outages. Today I unplugged her to reset to Pacific Standard Time, and she never came back to life. Seth Thomas model # SS18D, City Property Tag # 1462, you will be missed.
