We decided to start veggie gardening again this year and got it all planted today! Mike constructed the enclosure to keep hungry critters out, complete with a gate. We planted cucumbers, sugar snap peas, spinach, kale, and two tomato plants. Plus, we’re still container gardening on the deck with jalapeños, sweet banana peppers, fresno peppers, and green onions.

 

We’ve also added a second compost bin (seen in the background next to the fence) and will be getting a rain barrel soon.

 

We’re looking forward to having home grown produce again!

Macro Mondays, May 22: Chips

Parsnips, carrots, golden beets, purple potatoes, red bell pepper, sweet onion, portobello mushrooms, garlic, & kale. Rendered duck fat, aged balsamic sea salt, celery seed. 400º for 60 minutes; kale added at last 7 minutes.
